Happy Birthday is one of the newest signees to popular label, Sub Pop. Sub Pop has already had a very impressive lineup so far in 2010, including AFCGT and Retribution Gospel Choir, and Happy Birthday doesn’t take anything away from that. Happy Birthday are nearly experts at garage pop, full of tasty guitar licks and catchy-as-hell choruses, making every song delightfully fun! It just seems like this LP could never not be liked, it’s just impossible with songs like “Girls FM” and “Maxine the Teenage Eskimo”. It’s only appropriate that the Sub Pop write-up constantly refers to the band as “kids”, and the last song is called “Fun”. You can preorder the CD/LP right HERE for a relatively low price, and also get a bunch of free stuff (a sticker sheet and poster)!!!
